Caltech CubeSat/SmallSat Club
Welcome to the Caltech CubeSat Club!
We are a multi-disciplinary group of students, faculty, staff, and community members ultimately aiming to build and launch CubeSats for purposes of science, technology demonstration, and/or education. In its current form, Caltech CubeSat Club is a project to develop the individual and institutional knowledge, relationships, and infrastructure necessary to achieve that goal.
Active projects include a SATNOGS Ground Station, refurbishment of the Moore Building's 6-meter Radio Antenna, and a quarterly High Altitude Balloon launch program.
We frequently collaborate and share resources with the Caltech Air and Outer Space (CAOS) group.
The Small Satellites Operations Center was an initiative between JPL and Caltech that allowed students to directly command and analyze their own spacecraft in real-time. It evolved into CubeSat Club in 2021. We were located in the Guggenheim Building room 248 before being displaced by construction in 2026.
